Old-Growth LUDs
Boundaries of small old-growth reserves were changed to reflect the results of an interagency refinement process
Special Interest Areas
Geologic Special Interest Areas were expanded to protect nearly 47,000 acres of newly identified karst lands that are most vulnerable to disturbance from development
Minerals LUD
The Minerals LUD overlay acreage was expanded by about 80,000 acres to include minerals prospects near Hyder and on Prince of Wales Island
Scenery Inventory
Allocations of Development LUDs were changed (e.g., from Scenic Viewshed to Modified Landscape) to reflect updated scenery inventory information
Gravina Island
Development LUDs in the vicinity of Bostwick Inlet on Gravina Island were changed to Semi-remote Recreation
Juneau Icefields
About 97,000 acres on the Juneau Icefields were reallocated from Remote Recreation to Semi-remote Recreation
Upper Tenakee Inlet
About 43,000 acres on Chichagof Island at the head of Tenakee Inlet were reallocated from Timber Production, Modified Landscape, and Old-Growth Habitat to Semi-remote Recreation
Kupreanof Island
About 18,000 acres on Kupreanof Island east of Kake were reallocated from Timber Production to Semi-remote Recreation
